4 Ways to Boost Wellness. 1. Make it a point to stand up and stretch once an hour every day. 2. Replace sugary snacks with fresh fruit and veggies. 3. Stop the scroll and stow your phone for 30 min to read a book or magazine. 4. Catch more ZZZ's by setting a reminder to go to bed 15 minutes earlier each night.

Dancing is a great way to get cardiovascular exercise, according to Dr. Jessica Hennessey, a cardiologist at NewYork-Presbyterian and Columbia. To increase the intensity of the workout, Dr. Hennessey suggests making your movements bigger to raise your heart rate, then using the slower movements of the dance to help your muscles recover. For a healthy heart, most people should get either 150 minutes of moderate-intensity or 75 minutes of high-intensity exercise a week, so grab a few friends and come dance your heart out at Dance Church!

Learning how dancers build their core strength and perfect their posture are two great reasons to join us at Saturday's movement session. When you build your core and the muscles that run along your spine, you're not only supporting proper spine alignment, you're also helping to decrease neck and back pain, says Dr. Katherine Yao, a sports medicine physician from NewYork-Presbyterian and Weill Cornell Medicine. Join us this week to learn the moves that help strengthen New York City Ballet dancers, straight from the dancers themselves.
