Holding stress and tension in your body impacts how it functions and can contribute to chronic pain. The Alexander Technique has long been used by artists to release tension that improves their performance and helps with injuries, but it can also be useful to anyone trying to learn new habits that improve posture and body alignment, according to Dr. Evan Johnson, a physical therapist at Och Spine at NewYork-Presbyterian.

"It's amazing how much stress we build in our bodies, but it's also very simple to learn to let it go," he says. So come discover how to reduce the everyday strain on your body through this special workshop that blends communal singing with body awareness techniques that support your overall well-being.
